University Debates

A debate is a competition between two teams who argue and discuss a specific issue or topic, with each team trying to convince the panel of judges of their opinions and positions by innovating arguments, expressing themselves freely, and being armed with wit.

Preparing for a debate requires research, analysis, and engaging discussions that capture interest. In this way, debating helps educate young people and provides them with a wealth of topics that enrich their minds and increase their knowledge.

There are different debating styles, which vary based on the number of debaters on each team, the topic of discussion, and the duration of the debate. However, the exchange of ideas, freedom of expression, and the opportunity to persuade others of your position remain the constant weapons in every debate.
