The Student Housing and International Student Affairs Department is an important division under the Deanship of Student Affairs, established in 1988. The department aims to provide care for international students accepted into the university under the scholarship system offered by the State of Kuwait to friendly countries, as part of a cultural exchange agreement. Currently, the department serves students from approximately 55 nationalities, in addition to university students whose social conditions necessitate residence in university housing, after being reviewed by a specialized committee.

Scholarships Department
Provides comprehensive care for scholarship students (international) by handling scholarship applications, preparing financial allocations, issuing travel tickets, and managing all aspects related to scholarship students.
Student Housing Units:
- Student Housing Unit (Shuwaikh)
- Opened in February 1984.
- Comprises 4 buildings, each with ten floors and 11 rooms per floor. Each room accommodates one student and includes reception areas, laundry rooms, and public facilities.
- Managed by specialized supervisors available 24/7 to ensure a conducive environment for academic and psychological stability.
- Female Student Housing Unit (Kifan)
- Accepts female scholarship students whose guardians do not reside in Kuwait and university students needing internal accommodation based on their social and economic circumstances.
- The building has 6 floors with 308 rooms, including TV rooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms on each floor.
- Open daily from 7 AM to 9:30 PM.
- Residents must adhere to the housing regulations and may face penalties for violations.
Housing Admission Criteria:
- Scholarship students whose guardians do not reside in Kuwait.
- University students whose social condition requires them to stay in student housing.
Admission Procedures:
- For scholarship students, a letter from the relevant authorities confirming their acceptance as scholarship students is required.
- Other students must submit a housing application form within 15 days from the start of the semester, along with the required documents.
Activities Offered by the Department:
- Student Housing:
- Sports activities including football, volleyball, table tennis, and foosball.
- Social activities including trips and scientific visits to museums, towers, scientific centers, and other notable sites.
- Cultural, religious, and artistic activities such as cultural competitions, Quran memorization courses, and Arabic language lessons.
- Female Student Housing:
- Visits to tourist and recreational sites and prominent landmarks in Kuwait.
- Coordination of various workshops and lectures in collaboration with specialists.
- Participation in official programs and competitions.
- Cultural competitions, celebrations of religious and national events, and organizing end-of-year events.
Services Provided:
- Provision of furnished accommodation and study desks for students.
- Free meals (three times a day) at student cafeterias under the university’s nutrition management.
- Coordination with public services to provide regular bus transport between student housing and university colleges.
- Telecommunication services for internal and external calls.
- Laundry facilities with washing machines, dryers, and water dispensers.
- TV and video equipment in common areas for cultural and scientific film screenings.
- Emergency transport services for medical checks and civil ID procedures.
- An annual activity program for both semesters.
