The goal of the Academic Guidance Administration is to enhance the academic and cultural guidance provided to students at Kuwait University, striving for academic excellence while promoting social and educational values and fostering a spirit of cooperation and tolerance.
Objectives of the Administration:
The Academic Guidance Administration aims to improve the overall level of guidance and counseling at Kuwait University, focusing on academic advising, advancing student development, creating a qualitative shift in the field of guidance, and establishing a communication and interaction link between students, faculty members, and the university’s guidance offices.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist students in identifying their abilities, interests, and skills.
- Enhance communication and relationships between students and those involved in guidance and counseling.
- Study cases of academic dropout, identify causes, and propose appropriate solutions.
- Provide guidance programs.
- Inform stakeholders (administrators, faculty members) about issues faced by students.
- Introduce high school students to university life.
- Inform students about the services provided by the Student Affairs Administration.
- Address academically struggling students, study their situations, and propose suitable solutions.
- Help students overcome academic, social, and psychological problems.
- Inform students about university regulations, rules, and decisions.

- Guidance Department
- Enhances communication and relationships between students and guidance personnel.
- Educates students and guidance offices about the academic advising process through orientation meetings and workshops.
- Provides guidance programs aimed at preventive awareness for certain issues.
- Monitors and studies students' behavioral phenomena, increases awareness of issues faced by students, and offers advice and counsel.

- Prepares plans for studies and research in academic guidance.
- Conducts continuous surveys of student needs and studies related issues and problems in student guidance.
- Analyzes and collects statistical data, compares it with detailed plans for program implementation, and prepares periodic reports.
