**Student Housing Regulations**
Article (1)
Internal housing may accept the following categories:
1. Scholarship students at the university whose guardians do not reside in Kuwait.
2. University students whose social conditions indicate a need for internal housing, subject to available spaces.
Article (2)
Acceptance conditions for internal housing are:
1. Submission of a housing application using the designated form within 15 days from the beginning of each academic year. New students or those whose circumstances warrant may submit their application at the beginning of the second semester.
2. Payment of a non-refundable registration fee of 10 Kuwaiti Dinars upon joining the housing.
Article (3)
Names of accepted students will be announced within 15 days from the end of the application period.
Article (4)
1. Students will receive a special card for housing, which must be presented to officials upon request and returned when leaving the housing.
2. Students must take complete responsibility for the housing inventory from the housing supervisor.
Article (5)
1. Students may stay out of the housing with the housing supervisor’s permission.
2. If a student is absent from their room for ten days without permission, the housing supervisor may inventory and secure the room's contents in the presence of another student.
3. Unauthorized absences will be subject to the penalties described in Article (11).
Article (6)
1. Students may receive male visitors only.
2. Visits are allowed in designated areas and at times set by the Student Housing Department.
Article (7)
1. Students may stay out until midnight, and until 1:00 AM on Thursdays, Fridays, and public holidays.
Article (8)
Students residing in the housing must:
1. Maintain room organization and cleanliness, properly use housing facilities and tools, and adhere to the rules and decorum, including wearing complete attire in common areas.
2. Safeguard personal belongings; the university is not responsible for any loss.
3. Avoid tampering with housing electrical appliances and turn off lights, air conditioners, and heaters when leaving the room.
4. Use the housing phone only when necessary.
5. Maintain quietness and avoid disturbing others with radios or recorders.
6. Treat staff and cleaning workers well, and report any shortcomings or neglect to the housing supervisor.
7. Adhere to the bus schedules for transportation to and from the housing and follow the designated schedules for departure and return.
Article (9)
Students are prohibited from:
1. Hanging or sticking pictures or papers on walls or windows or writing on them.
2. Group studying in sleeping rooms; studying should be done in designated study areas.
3. Using televisions, video players, heaters, or tea/coffee-making equipment in sleeping rooms.
Article (10)
1. Housing occupancy ends one week after the final exams of the second semester each year. Students must return all housing property to the supervisor. Graduates whose guardians reside outside Kuwait are exempt until graduation procedures are complete.
2. Students whose guardians are in Kuwait must vacate the housing during the mid-year break unless permitted to stay.
3. Students registered for summer courses may continue residing in the housing.
Article (11)
The Assistant Director of the Student Housing Department may impose one of the following penalties:
1. Reprimand.
2. Warning of eviction from housing.
3. Eviction from housing.
Article (12)
No penalties listed in Article (11) can be imposed without a reasoned decision following an investigation. Penalties should be proportional to the violation, documented in writing, and a copy kept in the student's file.
Article (13)
Students have the right to appeal to the Director of the Student Housing Department within two weeks of a decision to evict them from housing.
Article (14)
The Director of the Student Housing Department may establish specific internal housing regulations based on the Assistant Director's recommendations, provided they do not conflict with these regulations.
Female Student Housing Regulations
